Crazy Times @ KSNP

Unlike the islands we stayed on in Thailand where we could only get around by boat, it seemed in Koh Sok the only way was by truck, the back of the truck to be exact. I didn't mind though since it was easier to take great scenery pics.

The huge toads that live in the forest. Gross!!!

Our Shack at Koh Sok

Let's see:

-two flights and wooden rotting stairs that are far apart, so your foot could easily slip in between

-only one side of the stairs had handles, fun times

-no outside lights so climbing up the stairs at night was even better

-tree frogs and God knows what else in the bathroom

-bug nets held together by safety pens

-we could talk from the inside of our hut and the people next door (Tom and Metra) could talk back from inside theirs

-we were given a lock and key for our door even though you could easily open the windows or one of the many cracks in the wall to get in, i mean the wood was thin enough as it was

WHAT's NOT TO LOVE!?!

Leaving Railay

We went from beach life on Railay to tropical rainforest @ Koh Sok National Park (The Rainforests there are older than the Amazon)
Upon our arrival...I walk into our little wooden rickety shack's bathroom to have a tree frog land on me. Not a nice surprise, but I did snap a pic before he escaped.

Busy Bee

I think back on the 6 months I've been in Japan so far and this week has been my busiest. It's been crazy around here! 4 to 5 classes a day, all new lesson plans, staying up till 2 am, trying to get to work in ICE (NOT snow, b/c GOD forbid we'd have snow over ICE) Busy!!! :P

Break from Thailand

Just found out today that the manga of HYD will be continuing on later this year. Cool beans!

One Year since the Tsunami - Phi Phi Scuba Trip

Christmas Day 2005

Christmas was an amazing day, but it was possibly the strangest Christmas I had b/c nothing reminded me of the holiday AT ALL ('cept for the funky trees there covered in funny tinsel). The day before we went to the beach and rock climbed and the day after we were going scuba diving on Phi Phi, so for Christmas itself...we had nothing planned. A day to lounge around, how great huh? First off we woke up and it was BEAUTIFUL outside (like always on Railay), I went out to lunch with Tom and Grace were we splurged on drinks quite early. I had this amazing Pineapple / Coconut Lassi shake with Rum and Shark Steak. Grace had the yummy full fish and Tom another steak. We laugh when we say we're splurging for lunch since we were actually spending about 300 baht for that meal (which IS A LOT in Thailand) but in all actuality it's about $10! Later we went shopping and went to the beach again. That afternoon we had scuba practice at a local pool to learn some of the scuba techniques before going out in the real ocean. that was fun and after that we had another Christmas dinner together. All in All a Lovely day!!!
